Being that it is Easter Sunday, that does not give a reason for NFL Gridiron Gab to take a break. It doesn't give the Buffalo Bills a break either. The Bills will sign quarterback Kevin Kolb tonight says ESPN reporter Adam Schefter. Kolb, at this moment, looks to be the starting quarterback of the Bills in 2013 if he can beat out Tarvaris Jackson for the spot. However, the Bills could still target a a quarterback in the draft.
Yesterday, my article on Kolb said that the Raiders were also interested in the quarterback if the team could not pull off the trade with Seattle Seahawks' back up quarterback, Matt Flynn. Here is the latest on Flynn.
The Oakland Raiders should be finalizing the the trade for Flynn soon. Pro Football Talk is reporting that the two sides will be getting a deal done shortly and that both sides are trying to get the best deal right now. This trade has been talked about for days now, and it seems that it will finally be happening.
With Flynn going to Oakland, the Raiders will now need to make their decision on quarterback Carson Palmer and his future. Palmer is supposedly interested in the Cardinals or 49ers; Pro Football Talk also reported earlier this week. The Raiders have stressed it over and over again that they will not pay Palmer's $13 million that he is due in 2013.
When the season starts, Kevin Kolb will be 29 years old. The quarterback has only started 21 games after being named the starting quarterback to a team for three years. Injuries have kept Kolb down more times than up, and his hope will be for that to change when he is with the Bills.
