TORONTO (AP) a With Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline" enjoying over the loudspeakers and scores of Toronto Raptors fans showing their support, the Boston Celtics returned to the court due to their first game since the bombing attack at the Boston Marathon. The Celtics collected with the Raptors at midcourt to see a moment of silence honoring the subjects just before Wednesday night's regular-season finale. Diamond's traditional strike, long related to Boston's beloved Red Sox, played because the Celtics' starters were presented, and a note on the arena scoreboards study, "Tonight we are all Boston fans." In the stands opposite the Toronto counter, three female fans organized an indicator that read, "Send Boston Love." The Celtics wore a black stripe on their jerseys while they played for the first time since double blasts near the marathon's end line on Monday left three people dead and more than 170 hurt. Celtics coach Doc Rivers said the tragedy has touched people every-where. "I do not think you've to be always a basketball player or anything," Rivers said. "You do not have to be from Boston, or from the United States. because it threatens our security and our freedom to assemble as friends, and that is part of what makes us human when something similar to that happens it has an effect on everybody else. Every time something like that happens, it threatens that. That is the unfortunate part of it." Rivers lives in downtown Boston, perhaps not far from where in fact the bombs were detonated, and was on his way home if the attacks happened. "I noticed panic, that you simply don't actually want to see," Rivers said. "And then I witnessed some very nice things, too. I witnessed a lot of people taking charge of their town and I thought that was awesome." Boston's home game Tuesday against the Indiana Pacers was terminated following the bombings, indicating the next time the Celtics play at home will undoubtedly be in their first round playoff series against the Newest York Knicks. "Being hockey players and representing Boston, we certainly wish to venture out there and give the people some thing to encourage about," guard Courtney Lee said. "Even though you can't replace losses and you can't replace injuries and whatnot, we definitely desire to give those individuals something to take their head off it." Rivers said he's been moved incidentally their unity has been shown by other cities with Boston. Football fans at Yankee Stadium performed "Sweet Caroline" all through Tuesday's game, as the Chicago Tribune featured the images of Boston's main sports clubs. "That was lovely, that was awesome," Rivers said of the Tribune's image. "On 9-11 it was similar, you found the Yankees-Red Sox hats. Do not misunderstand me, we still hate one another in sports but not in life. The two things can be separated by you. I do believe all the large cities execute a congrats of demonstrating that a' that we are with you, and we're against you. It's a neat little thing." Actually the Raptors' press relations team found ways to pay their respects to Boston. The cards marking sitting projects on press row Wednesday bore a graphic of two soldiers standing over floral tributes to the disaster, with ' (hashtag )Boston' produced at the bottom.
