No regrets for Sahin over injury-hit Real Madrid go - The National

Nuri Sahin demands he has no regrets over his ill-fated proceed to Real Madrid, despite seeing his fast-rising job booth during an year at the Bernabeu. The Turkey global signed a contract with Madrid in 2011, after catching the eye all through his key position in Borussia Dortmund's Bundesliga title-winning campaign the previous season, But an injury-blighted spell in Spain meant he enjoyed only a couple of games for Jose Mourinho's side before joining Liverpool on a loan last summer. The 24-year-old, who came ultimately back to Dortmund on mortgage in January after making only 12 appearances at Anfield, doesn't regret making the move to Madrid, nevertheless. "Of course when I went I had different objectives there," he told AS. "But I was injured. When I was in a position to return to the complete time and the team I did not play well I was hurt the team were really playing very well. "Now, when I see how my game is improving, I think I got the proper decision to go. I learned a lot. I was able to train day in day out with the very best players on earth, like Cristiano (Ronaldo), (Karim) Benzema, (Gonzalo) Higuain...This helped me too much to improve my game." Dortmund can come face-to-face with Madrid later this month if they collide in the Champions League semi-finals. Madrid have won an archive eight European Cup caps but haven't felt success in the competition since 2002 and in the last couple of years have been knocked out at the semi-finals. Sahin knows what a 10th subject methods to Madrid and thinks that advances the stress on Mourinho's men. He said: "Real Madrid have spent a decade discussing and wanting to gain a European Cup title.
