Wrestlemania 29 Results: 7 Huge New Rivalries We Could See Going Forward

The Miz won the Intercontinental Championship by defeating Wade Barrett on the WrestleMania 29 pre-show, and it's safe to say that hardly anyone is begging for those two to continue their rivalry.

Barrett and The Miz clearly need to move on from each other at this point. The question, though, is what to do with both guys, especially The Miz.

This depends largely upon what Chris Jericho's WWE future holds, but if Y2J is going away for a while again, then his WrestleMania opponent, Fandango, could be looking for a new feud soon, too.

While Fandango is getting a strong push right now, I don't think he's going to shoot straight up to the World title picture. A run with a midcard title, however, seems like a much more realistic possibility.

That could potentially lead Fandango to a rivalry with The Miz, who may be looking for a new feud once he's done with Barrett (which needs to be soon). I'm not sure a Miz/Fandango rivalry would get over too well with the crowd (because Miz is a lackluster babyface and Fandango is so new), but hey, they've gotta do something, right?

Fandango is going to be a big player in the midcard picture while The Miz's second Intercontinental title reign, though it probably won't do much for him, should make him a focal point of WWE TV going forward.

With both Miz/Barrett and Fandango/Y2J possibly having ended Sunday night, perhaps the WWE will simply swap Fandango over to a rivalry with The Miz to help establish him as a midcard title threat.
