United piled on the pressure against Fulham and the Londoners had done enough to bag a point it looked. But with the game beyond regulation time and time running out Cisse struck an important target. The fact United players remained on the area to celebrate long following the final whistle showed exactly what this win meant to Newcastle today. Newcastle United v Fulham Fulham had the first view of purpose after five minutes when Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa dropped the ball on the left hand side and Dimitar Berbatov waltzed through but his dink drifted just within the bar. Steven Taylor had Unitedas first proper potential for the overall game but he went large over the bar after Moussa Sissokoas right side mix on 12 minutes. Minutes were clipped in a right wing cross four by danny Simpson later after latching to Jonasa move but Papiss Cisse headed over from ten yards. The persistent damage disaster that's haunted all year to United continued on 17 minutes when Davide Santon was carried off. The former Serie A star was replaced by Dutchman Vurnon Anita with Jonas falling to left-back. United had the higher of the ball against Fulham in the opening phases but chances were few and far between. However, Cisse tried his luck from distance on 27 minutes and then begin to see the ball sail broad after Sissokoas move. Cisse had yet another opportunity on 32 minutes but after latching on to Marveauxas cross he scooped his shot within the bar. Fulham threatened down the left when Bryan Ruiz struck at target but the shot was prevented by Yanga-Mbiwaas block creating issues. Giorgos Karagounisa resultant spot fell for Stanislav Monelev but Tim Krul made a stop before the threat was eliminated. The two sides went in level at the break but there clearly was a real opportunity seven minutes when Vurnon Anitaas shot got a deflection and trimmed the wood with Mark Schwarzer rooted to the spot. The Magpies kept up the force and on the time draw when Yohan Cabayeas cross dropped for Steven Taylor but his work was clutched on to by Schwarzer. On 65 minutes Marveauxas corner found Gouffran but the Frenchmanas header struck Sascha Rietheras supply and on to the post and when Cisse used up very the post was struck again before their lines were cleared by Fulham. Fulham had possibilities too and with 22 minutes to get Berbatov rose substantial to head the ball at goal with Krul needing to be at his brilliant far better drive it over the top. Pardew used on Shola Ameobi for the remaining quarter of the sport and the Toon striker forced Schwarzer in to a save your self low down when he arrowed an attempt over the face of target. It appeared as if the game was up since the game drifted in to stoppage time at St Jamesa however. However whilst the sport entered the 93rd minute Cabayeas shot dropped into no mistake was made by the path of Cisse who to snatch three factors from close range. It sparked outstanding scenes as players and coaching team went ballistic on the sidelines as the ceiling very nearly came off as of this famous old ground. The significance of Cisseas success could hardly be put into words as the gain hoisted Newcastle nearer to survival.
