Alex Song is expected to play alongside Gerard Pique in central defence as both Javier Mascherano and Carles Puyol will miss the game.
PSG travel to Camp Nou sweating over the fitness of Thiago Silva (knee), who missed the weekend's game against Rennes.
The tie is level at 2-2 and Barcelona are the bookmakers' favourites to progress to the semi-finals. Previewing the game for Crunchsports.com, FootballTips.com writer Thomas Rooney has backed the Catalans to progress - with or without Messi.
"Barcelona may have to prepare for life without Messi for this one though and with this in mind, the 5-0 victory over Mallorca at the weekend was an encouraging sign," Rooney told us.
"It was a positive, free-flowing performance from them and more of the same will be expected tonight - with or without Messi.
"As for PSG, they will hope that the equaliser last week ends up being the decisive goal of this tie. Carlo Ancelotti's men now know that victory in Spain will see them progress.
"One thing the French side can be encouraged by is their away form in Europe this season. They started with a 1-0 defeat in Porto, but have followed this up with three successive wins on the road. The most impressive of these came at Valencia in the last round and Ancelotti will be targeting more success in Spain. They will have the belief, no doubt about that.
"PSG must score if they are to defy the odds though and with this in mind, Zlatan Ibrahimovic's performance will be key. It has to be a massive team effort though and it starts at the back. Perhaps if they can restrict Barcelona to one goal, they have enough in their locker to secure a shock win.
"However, the way Tito Vilanova's men performed against AC Milan last month was potentially season defining and Barcelona won't be ready to undo all this hard work.
"So, although PSG will come in hope, they will leave with the conclusion that they still have some work to do in order to compete with the likes of Barcelona."
