Malaga instructor Manuel Pellegrini appears to have appeared as a contender to take over as Chelsea manager after Rafael Benitez proved that his time while the club's temporary manager should come to a finish this summer. Pellegrini was connected with the Stamford Bridge hotseat in 2011 if the club were buying new director after the sacking of Carlo Ancelotti. Less than two decades later, Chelsea have been through still another two supervisors, and Benitez is in control on a temporary basis. Benitez launched a biting attack on the club's board and supporters in an amazing post-match press briefing on Wednesday evening (see Related Articles), and according to Pellegrini's agent, the former Real Madrid head coach is just a possible goal for the west London club. "Chelsea and other groups have expected, but only through intermediaries, nothing official," Martinez informed Chilean newspaperAEl Mercurio. "Manuel would want to coach in the English Premier League, as he would in Germany, Italy and other important leagues. "Manuel has a deal with Malaga. I believe that, in April and May, we will be clear by what will happen along with his future. "Our first intention is to regard our responsibility to Malaga, but it also is dependent upon what the conditions are. We had a offer from Roma, but we rejected it. It was significantly less than 15 days before, but because we are in the middle of the season" it was discarded by us completely.
